Ruvuma’s highest recorded raw-cashew auction price rose to TZS3,280 a kilogram on 3 November, up TZS20 from the previous high listed by the Tanzania Mercantile Exchange.

The exchange’s recent trade results show a low of TZS3,150 for the same Ruvuma entry, labelled RCN-1. The preceding entry, dated 27 October, recorded a high of TZS3,260 and a low of TZS3,170.

Mtwara’s 2 November entry ranges from TZS3,300 to TZS3,450 a kilogram. Lindi’s 1 November result ranges from TZS3,340 to TZS3,420, while Pwani’s latest displayed result, dated 29 October, ranges from TZS2,610 to TZS3,180.

TMX labels those three entries RCN, separately from Ruvuma’s RCN-1. The regional observations cover different dates and product codes; they are high and low prices rather than volume-weighted averages or a single nationwide cashew price.

Tanzania’s official trade portal describes auctions as the route through which exporters and processors obtain raw cashews. Its procedure runs from the auction catalogue and bidding to invoicing, payment and release of the consignment.

The new November price observations follow earlier reporting on October cashew sales and payments.
