Tanzania is preparing to launch revised industrial and small-business policies in Dodoma on 4 November, with access to capital, technology and markets among the stated priorities. The Ministry of Industry and Trade has scheduled a stakeholder forum for 3 November ahead of the launch.
The ministry’s 31 October announcement identifies the documents as the Sustainable Industrial Development Policy 2025 and the 2025 edition of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Policy 2003. Prime Minister Mwigulu Nchemba is expected to officiate at the launch; the announcement is a timetable, rather than confirmation that the launch has already happened.
An official update dated 1 November places the programme at the Jakaya Kikwete Convention Centre in Dodoma. Exhibitions and business clinics were scheduled to begin on 2 November and continue through 4 November, alongside the policy discussions.
The ministry says the revised approach is intended to strengthen domestic production, improve the processing of local raw materials and help enterprises compete in local and export markets. It also identifies enabling infrastructure, finance, technology and innovation as priorities for smaller businesses.
A separate 27 October ministry briefing describes plans for an industrial fund to support access to capital. It does not establish that a funded lending window is already open, so businesses should distinguish the policy intention from an available financing product.
