AMAN Union Awards 2025 took center stage in Jeddah as AMAN Union announced the winners during its 15th Annual General Meeting, officials said. ICIEC, a member of the Islamic Development Bank Group, hosted the meeting. Dr. Khalid Khalafalla, ICIEC’s Chief Executive Officer, delivered the announcement in person.

The AMAN Union Awards recognize excellence across export credit, investment, and trade insurance. Moreover, the program highlights innovation and best practices that strengthen institutional capacity and support sustainable development among member institutions. Consequently, the awards serve as both a benchmark and a motivator for agencies that operate in complex risk environments.

This year, the jury conferred the Exceptional Performance Award on Saudi Eximbank. The panel cited the Export Pioneers Graduate Program for its scalable design and clear results. In particular, the program builds technical skills, lifts institutional capability, and supports pipeline growth across export ecosystems. Therefore, the initiative advances AMAN Union’s objectives while delivering measurable benefits for businesses and jobs.

“The Export Pioneers Graduate Program reflects the very essence of what the AMAN Union stands for—collaboration, innovation, and capacity-building,” Dr. Khalafalla said. “By empowering the next generation of professionals and strengthening the export ecosystem, such initiatives contribute directly to the sustainable growth of our member countries and reinforce our mission to support inclusive and resilient development.”

The AMAN Union Awards also elevated research that informs policy and operations. Accordingly, the jury named the Jordan Loan Guarantee Corporation as the winner of the Best Research Paper or Thesis of the Year Award. The study advanced practical guidance on sustainable finance and offered tools that members can adopt in credit and guarantee frameworks. In addition, the research aligned with AMAN Union’s push to embed resilience metrics in products and underwriting.

Commenting on the accolade, AMAN Union Secretary-General Mourad Mizouri stressed the value of rigorous evidence. “The recognition of this research underscores AMAN Union’s commitment to promoting evidence-based policymaking and knowledge sharing,” he said. “Encouraging research and thought leadership is key to building stronger, more agile institutions capable of addressing emerging global challenges and opportunities.”

Beyond the trophies, the union framed this year’s cohort as a signal to keep investing in people, systems, and data. Furthermore, leaders urged members to treat workforce development and applied research as core strategy rather than side projects. As a result, agencies can respond faster to shocks, price risk more accurately, and broaden access to trade and investment insurance.

The Exceptional Performance Award rewards operational execution, institutional development, and contributions to AMAN Union’s agenda. However, the jury also weighs scalability and cross-border relevance. By that yardstick, the Saudi Eximbank program stood out: it produces trained professionals, improves service delivery, and supports export diversification in a way peers can replicate.

The Best Research Paper or Thesis of the Year Award targets original analysis with direct application. JLGC’s work met that bar with methods that supervisors, product teams, and risk officers can implement. Consequently, members gain a clearer pathway to integrate sustainability criteria without slowing approvals or raising costs unnecessarily.

Looking ahead, AMAN Union will circulate case notes and toolkits so members can adapt both the graduate-program model and the research insights. Meanwhile, working groups plan peer-learning sessions on curriculum design, mentoring structures, and data standards for sustainable-finance reporting. In addition, the union will track adoption through its capacity-building dashboard to measure skills gained, products launched, and client outcomes.

Taken together, AMAN Union Awards 2025 underscore a broader industry shift. Agencies now prioritize skills, science, and systems to navigate higher volatility and evolving trade patterns. Therefore, initiatives that deliver talent and decision-useful data are rising to the top. For members, the message is clear: scale what works, share what scales, and keep the focus on real-economy impact..
