DÉTAILS DE L'ÉVÉNEMENT

The African Development Bank Group, World Bank Group, African Union, and the Tanzanian Government are set to host a pivotal summit in Dar es Salaam, Tanzanie, focused on securing the financial resources, partnerships, and political commitment needed to propel Africa’s energy future.

The Sommet africain de l'énergie will convene African Heads of State and Government, private sector leaders, development partners, civil society organizations, sector experts, and academic institutions to discuss and mobilize for the Mission 300 initiative. Launched in April 2024, Mission 300 aims to provide electricity to 300 million people in Sub-Saharan Africa by 2030. The initiative focuses on increasing infrastructure investment and implementing comprehensive policy reforms to improve electricity access across the continent.

Currently, nearly 600 million people in Africa lack access to electricity, contributing to around 83% of the global energy deficit. The Mission 300 plan is seen as a critical step towards accelerating electrification in Africa, transforming lives, boosting economic opportunities, and improving livelihoods across the continent.

The summit will play a crucial role in fostering international cooperation and ensuring that the momentum towards universal electrification is sustained, positioning Africa as a global leader in renewable energy and sustainable development.
