Tanzania sold about 175,000 tonnes of raw cashews worth more than TZS682 billion by 1 November, roughly three weeks after its 2026/27 auction season opened, the Warehouse Receipts Regulatory Board said.
Asangye Bangu, the board’s executive director, reported the figures on 3 November at a trade exhibition in Dodoma. He said about 200,000 tonnes had been collected through the warehouse receipts system by 1 November. The board’s rounded totals put sales at roughly 88% of the volume collected by that date. Daily News also reported the figures.
The board counted 20 auctions from the first sale on 12 October through 3 November. Its sales value covered transactions through 1 November. The statement did not report how much growers had received in payments by that date.
Tanzania’s official trade portal says exporters and processors buy raw cashews through auctions. The process starts with a catalogue and bids, followed by invoicing, payment and release of the consignment.
InAfrika previously reported that the opening fortnight brought in more than TZS300 billion in auction sales, based on Cashewnut Board figures. The latest regional prices covered here show how the listed bids varied across auction dates and product grades.
