Kenya had 20 programmes reporting UK-supported climate technical assistance in 2025–2026, the highest number in the country table published by the UK government on 4 November.

Nigeria had 17 reporting programmes, South Africa 14 and Zambia 13, according to the 2026 International Climate Finance results. The measure counts programmes reporting technical support; it does not rank countries by the amount of funding received.

The support includes training, policy advice and help preparing projects or investments. The government said 105 programmes had delivered technical assistance across 138 countries between April 2011 and March 2026, with support reported in 123 countries during the latest year.

Across the wider global portfolio, the UK estimated that its climate programmes had mobilised £12.6 billion in public finance and £13.4 billion in private finance since April 2011. These are worldwide cumulative totals, not sums assigned to Kenya or delivered in one year.

The figures rely on programme reporting and estimation. Co-funded programmes generally attribute results according to the UK’s funding share, while technical-assistance indicators measure contributions because individual effects can be difficult to isolate.

The publication also revises earlier results when methods or data improve. It cautions that changes to historical estimates should not be read as activity newly delivered in 2025–2026.
