Cross Switch, a leading provider of innovative payment solutions, has achieved a significant milestone by securing its Third-Party Payment Processor (TPPP) license, issued by the Payments Association of South Africa (PASA) and sponsored by Absa. This new licensing status strengthens the company’s position in South Africa’s growing payments ecosystem, allowing it to independently onboard merchants, fintechs, and charities. This achievement follows closely after the company’s certification as a Visa Payment Facilitator (PayFac), further solidifying its role as a major player in the region.
The TPPP license enables Cross Switch to enhance its service offering by providing businesses with a highly flexible payment platform, which allows them to easily accept local and international payments. Through its adaptable API (CS+), Cross Switch helps businesses scale and grow, making it easier for South African merchants to transact across Africa and key international markets like Latin America. The company’s platform facilitates seamless integration for merchants in South Africa, Kenya, Morocco, Ivory Coast, and other regions, with plans to expand further into countries like Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, and Chile.
