The Islamic Corporation for the Insurance of Investment and Export Credit (ICIEC), a Shariah-compliant multilateral insurer and member of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group, is co-organising the IsDB Group Private Sector Forum during the 50th Annual Meetings of the Board of Governors in Algiers, Algeria. This Forum will bring together policymakers, private-sector leaders, and representatives from development institutions to explore ways to enhance cross-border trade, investment, and cooperation.

The highlight of ICIEC’s participation will be its High-Level Panel Discussion themed “Unlocking Trade Potential among Africa, Arab Countries, and Algeria: The Role of Multilateral Development Institutions and Global Cooperation.” The session will underscore Algeria’s role as a gateway between Africa and the Arab world and emphasize the importance of Shariah-compliant risk mitigation tools. It will spotlight initiatives in trade financing, infrastructure, energy, and agriculture, encouraging collaboration between public and private stakeholders to advance trade and investment.

Keynote speeches will be delivered by senior government officials and top executives from the IsDB Group, focusing on policies and practices that support inclusive economic development. By gathering experts and leaders, ICIEC aims to promote the role of Islamic insurance and innovative financing in reducing risks and accelerating growth across Africa and the Arab world.

ICIEC CEO Dr. Khalid Khalafalla stated the forum will help foster impactful dialogues to shape future trade and investment strategies across these regions.
