Three Tanzanian businesses are listed among the selected pitchers at BlueInvest Africa in Cape Town, where entrepreneurs and investors are meeting around ocean and inland-water industries. The 2–3 November programme covers food systems, circular materials, climate resilience and maritime services.
The organiser’s current selection list names Bio1 Solutions, Global Green Packaging Solutions and KCG Aquatec Fish Farming Consultancy from Tanzania. It identifies Christian Shao, Tatu Kassim and Stephano Adrian Karoza as their respective pitchers; inclusion establishes their selection, rather than confirming an investment award.
Bio1’s presentation is described in the programme as converting fish waste into biofertiliser. The Tanzanian entries sit alongside Kenyan and Ugandan projects, illustrating how fish production, materials, data services and waste use can connect businesses across East Africa.
Opening the event on 2 November, South Africa’s Deputy Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition, John Steenhuisen, called for investment and stronger regional production chains. The department’s account of his address also stresses that environmental sustainability is necessary for the sector’s long-term viability.
The published agenda includes investor meetings, pitching sessions and a discussion on financing regenerative blue-economy businesses. Its second day is scheduled to cover data and robotics, maritime services and infrastructure, before recognition awards and closing proceedings.
